The Building
Il Palazzo is an imposing Grade II listed building and was originally one of Liverpool's first banks. Built in 1895 in the style of the Italian renaissance, it has been faithfully restored and refurbished and has retained many of its period features such as the mythological plaster friezes and the Blue Pearl Granite columns - considered to be some of the largest in Europe as they are sculpted in one piece. There's Rosso Francia Marble adorning the walls of the hall and porcelain tiles to the floor. The stunning wood panelling has been painstakingly restored to its original beauty.
Although steeped in history, the building is the perfect mix of style and technology. The offices in the main banking hall are divided by a contemporary, highly specified, sound-proofed glass. The intelligent lighting system in each room not only reacts to ambient light levels but is also motion-activated.
